The flagship wine from one of Hungary's very best winemakers, from one of the best vintages in recent memory.
The Eger Region of Northern Hungary is renowned as the best producer of Bikavér, the name given to a family of wines created from a blend of grapes whose varieties and proportions are controlled by law. The new classification of Bikavér Superior was established to distinguish the very best examples, made from the lowest grape yields.
St. Andrea's Merengő Bikavér Superior is a blend of 50% kékfrankos, 20% syrah, 20% merlot, and 10% cabernet franc. Created from 3-8 year old vines and aged in oak barrels for 14 months, it won a Silver medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2010 and fully displays the elegance for which Eger's red wines have become renowned.

About the Winery:
Established in 1999, György Lörincz's St Andrea Winery is synonymous with elegant refined wines. He grows 18 different grape varieties, consciously looking for the tastes that are individual to a piece of land. Oak barrels then cradle these rich, fruity and sophisticated wines.
In addition to being awarded "Best Hungarian Winemaker" in 2009, he was also named as the best Eger winemaker and received the Hungarian Order of Merit in 2007.
