Archabbey Pannonhalma has just been awarded the prestigious Hungarian Winery of the Year award for 2010. The winery, with its 37 hectare vineyard, is part of a Benedictine Abbey, where the monks started making wine in the 10th century. These activities ceased during Communist times, but started up again with great success in 2001.
The wines of the Archabbey are renowned for their delicious aromas and flavours, and this elegant Rhine Riesling is no different. It is greenish in colour, with citrus and grapefruit flavours and intense aromas. The full body of the wine is nicely balanced by the acid content, which will also ensure good aging.
