You may love this wine more than anything else you have tried in years. Or you may hate it. But you are unlikely to have tasted anything similar.

Kéknyelű ("Blue Stalk") is an indigenous and very rare white grape variety, today only planted in the Badacsony area of Hungary, near the shores of Lake Balaton. A difficult grape to get the best out of, but the winemaker Laposa is acknowledged as a master of this grape, and is leading its renaissance. A really unusual aroma and taste - almost savoury, really long and chewy in the mouth. Dry, crisp acidity, high mineral character, notes of gun powder with a light floral, white blossom touch. Drink now, or it will develop for the next 3-4 years.

Recommended drinking temperature: 11-13°C.

Could be interesting match with grilled fish, sea food, or aged cheese.
